Only entrants who have registered for the 2024 Prize for Embroidery may upload their submissions.

Lizzie Gray web tooth imageWe are looking to see your embroidery skills and your interpretation of the 2024 brief: Traces of transition: Embroidery that illuminates the layers of our lives.
The images of your work must be clear, unretouched, high resolution JPEGs that show:

Image 1 – The concept of your design, research and development e.g the beginning of your story and how your design connects to the brief. (This can be a collage of images but do not include text or images of your Pinterest board.)

Image 2 – Samples, progress and where you will be heading e.g the middle of your story (DO NOT submit multiple images or text)

Image 3 – A close up of your work e.g something important that you feel is important that the judges see and showcase your strengths and techniques (DO NOT submit multiple images or text)

Image 4 – Finished piece/Work in progress e.g the end of your story, if not yet completed, a clear idea of what your final design will look like. (DO NOT submit multiple images or text)

1 Lizzie Gray copy webThe judges will be looking for ‘Wow Factor’, embroidery talent and interpretation of the brief.

There are no trick questions, the judges will be looking at your images, the text you submit is to support your images, tell your story and how you have connected to the brief.

All entrants will be notified whether they are through to the next round by email. Use an email address you can be reached at over the coming months.

Given the volume of entries we receive the judges will not be able to offer specific feedback on any work that does not make it to the next stage.

Please also note that uploads without a valid registration will not be counted.

 

In order to submit for the Prize for Embroidery, you must have registered between 1 November – 3 April 2024. This page will close at Midnight (GMT) on Sunday 7th July 2024.
