Embroidery…in Fashion

Embroidery … in Fashion Hand & Lock is proud to announce its second international Conference on Embroidery.

It will be entitled: Embroidery…in Fashion. The conference to be held at the London College of Fashion, together with the Prize Giving on Saturday November 8th featuring world class guest speakers .

After the success of last year Conference Embroidering … the Future held at Sydney PowerHouse Museum, we decided to bring this years conference back to London to be co-hosted by the London College of Fashion

Conference topics will be among others:
• Tales from Lesage the legendary Parisian embroiderer.
• Couture fashion embroidery – Are we in danger of losing our heritage?
• Goldwork in fashion
• Couture, Craft and Catwalk
with speakers such as:

- François Lesage famous French couture embroiderer
- Angus Cundy Chairman of Henry Poole & Co, the 1st. Tailor to operate from Savile Row
- Anda Rowland Managing Director of Anderson & Sheppard Savile Row’s tailor to the stars
- Jade Jagger a member of the eponymous family a successful jewellry designer and embroidery designer in her own right

The Panel is under the stewardship of Bruce Oldfield London’s international Fashion Designer

This conference is for everyone who creates, designs, studies, teaches, collects, researches, appreciates or works with modern or traditional embroidery as an art, craft, hobby or profession.

To round off the most exiting event of the year in embroidery, the London College of Fashion will present a Fashion Show with the work of Hand & Lock Prize for Embroidery 2008 finalists.

    are there still any manufacturers of embroidery thread in reels both in plastic reels and wooden reels
    what happenned to william ayrton manufacturers of embroidery and sewing thread winding machine manufacturers in the UK
    there was also a manufacturer of these machines
    in japan TORII
    what happened to them
    if anyone has some information regarding this
